Good Shepherd Church, Sri Lanka, 1966

A small chapel for a small convent of “Good Shepherd Nuns”. Built of local black granite it stands on a mountain top next to the convent, overlooking a distant valley

The north-facing window wall with the three crucifixes of Golgatha gives a cool gentle light in the chapel, whilst the glass roof over the tower sends a strong shaft of sunlight down onto the altar.

The priests’ robes by Laki Senanayke

The statue by Barbara Sansoni
